Job Summary 

The Manager, Innovation & Data Excellence is an important new role in the Global Finance Centre of Excellence organization. The initial focus of the role will be to manage the successful transition of Controlling activities to the Global Finance Centre of Excellence and thereafter provide ongoing support to ensure the smooth operation of Controlling processes in line with performance targets. The role will play a key role in delivering a range of innovations and enhancements to the activities of the Finance Centre of Excellence team, which will range across a number of dimensions and include systems implementation, process standardization, reporting and KPI development, accounting policy definition and controls testing, ensuring that all improvement initiatives are embedded in the organization. The role will also manage a small team that will be responsible for managing supplier and customer masterdata. The role will work alongside other Senior Finance Controlling team members and be a strong advocate for our Finance Excellence vision to be trusted business partners that champion growth, create value and manage risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Manager, Innovation & Data Excellence will support the successful transition and delivery of Controlling processes working in conjunction with the HQ Controlling team, Regional    Controlling team and Global Finance Centre of Excellence Pillars and ensure delivery of the following key activities:
  • Transition of Controlling activities to the Global Finance Centre of Excellence
  • Support the identification of activities that will transition to the Global Finance Centre of Excellence
  • Work as part of the transition management team to ensure the coordination of training for the Centre of Excellence team, including production of user guides and training materials
  • Help troubleshoot issues during the transitionary period and during the post Go Live Hypercare period
  • Participate fully in transition readiness meetings that will confirm that transition activities are completed sufficiently to transfer ownership of service delivery to the Global Finance      Centre of Excellence
  • Support the communication to the Regional Controlling Finance team and Non Finance users of change impacts arising from the transition of work to the Global Finance Centre of    Excellence
  • Ensure the Global Centre of Excellence team receive advice, training and guidance on the Regional / Divisions being supported and how this impacts the Controlling activities being delivered

     

    Controlling Service Delivery

  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to assist the Global Finance Shared Service team achieve agreed service delivery targets
  • Working with the Centre of Excellence Pillar Managers to monitor operational KPIs to identify areas for improvement
  • Help troubleshoot issues where input needs to be coordinated across Regional Finance teams and non-Finance users
  • Manage customer and supplier master data ensuring the timely addition and edits to master data and drive efforts to improve data quality and standardization
  • Participate in governance arrangements to ensure that the requirements for customer and supplier master data and opportunities to make improvements are represented

     

    Controlling Projects and Initiative

  •  Participate in projects sponsored by HQ Controlling to drive growth and performance improvement, including process standardization initiatives and systems implementation,    providing inputs on
  • statutory requirements to be reflected in the design and actions necessary to achieve the full adoption by the Finance Controlling team and non-Finance users
  • Perform research and network with external bodies to identify trends and opportunities to improve the Controlling processes

     

    Finance Team Management and Collaboration

  • Manage the customer and supplier master data team, setting goals that help drive performance
  • Create plans for the personal development of team members, including succession plans and performance improvement plans
  • Ensure the master data team receive regular communication from Finance Leadership to help them become an integral and valued part of the Finance function
  • Work in full collaboration with the Regional Controlling team and Global Finance Centre of Excellence to ensure the successful operation of the Controlling process, removing roadblocks to progress activities
  • Share best practice with other Finance Controlling teams
  • Work as key member of the Finance Controlling team, helping to shape, advocate for and deliver our Finance Excellence vision to be trusted business partners that champion growth, create value and manage risk

     

    Job Requirement

  • This is an important role in the Finance organization that requires a strong understanding of all Controlling processes and an ability to manage relationships and positively influence    change. To be successful in the role it is expected that you will have:
  • Solid understanding of Controlling processes, policies and procedures
  • Experience supporting the transition of activities into Global Finance Centre of Excellence
  • Proactive and able to manage successful relations with Finance team members, including Global Centre of Excellence
  • Collaborative and inclusive approach to working with team members and colleagues
  • Experience of working with Controlling systems, reporting and KPIs
  • Analytical, process orientated mindset with a focus on fixing problems at source and driving continuous improvement
  • Good attention to detail
  • Willingness to help train, coach and support team members
