HR Manager – Role

This is a hands-on HR Generalist / People Operations role in a lean startup environment. The person will independently manage core HR operations while partnering closely with the CEO and Chief of Staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end payroll, compensation, reimbursements and F&F
• Statutory compliance – PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments and POSH
• Employee documentation, BGV, onboarding, confirmation and exits
• Leave, attendance and HRMS management
• HR policy drafting and implementation
• Employee engagement, grievances and overall employee experience
• HR MIS and leadership/board-level reporting
• Support the CEO/Chief of Staff on hiring plans and people-related decisions
• Manage HR independently in a lean team environment

Ideal Candidate:

• 2+ years of hands-on HR/People Operations experience
• Preferably from a startup/generalist HR environment
• Should have personally handled end-to-end payroll
• Strong knowledge of Indian statutory compliance
• Experience with HRMS/payroll tools such as Keka, Zoho People, GreytHR or similar
• Strong ownership, attention to detail, communication and confidentiality
• Comfortable managing multiple HR functions independently

Key screening focus: End-to-end payroll ownership, statutory compliance depth, HR policy experience, startup exposure, HRMS knowledge and ability to independently manage HR operations.
