Job Description

The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing the company’s overall tax compliances across direct and indirect taxes.

Responsibilities

Direct Taxation

• Manage corporate income tax compliances: (a) TDS and TCS payments (b) TDS and TCS returns (c) advance tax computation and payment (d) filing of annual income tax returns (e) filing of annual tax audit reports (f) filing of TP compliance certificates
• Manage assessments under the Income Tax Act in consultation with consultants and senior management
• Liaise with financial reporting team and finance team for payment of tax liabilities
• Ensure reconciliation of tax liabilities and credits between books and tax returns on a monthly basis

Indirect Taxation (GST)

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of monthly and annual GST returns, reconciliations, and audits (GSTR 1, 3B, 9, 9C) in consultation with advisors/ tax consultants;
• Manage ITC reconciliations between books, GSTR 2B, and trial balance;
• Manage GST assessments, departmental audits, and litigation; prepare submissions and represent the company along with consultants.
• Stay abreast of policy changes (CBDT/CBIC circulars, advance rulings, budget changes) and their implications on the business.
• Drive automation in tax processes (SAP-GST interface, e-invoicing, e-way bill tracking) to strengthen control and efficiency.
• Guide business teams on GST implications on routine queries/ transactions

Controls & Reporting

• Ensure alignment of tax reporting with financial reporting and management dashboards.
• Prepare MIS on tax exposures, assessments, and refund positions for management review.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Qualification: B. Com/ M. Com/ CMA
• Experience: 3-4 years of similar profile preferably in manufacturing sector.
• Technical Skills:
  • Maintain up-to-date tax positions, provisions, and contingencies
  • SAP (FI/CO/MM) working knowledge
  • Proficiency in drafting preferred
